Golfing in the Beautiful Charente There are plenty of golf courses in the Charente and Charente Maritime, you will not have to go far to discover them. The very popular Golf du Cognac , which is a stress-free 40 mins drive is an 18 hole course with a par 72 over 6142 metres.  Angouleme Golf couse, Golf Club de l'Hirondelle is only 30 minutes away, it has an 18 hole course and a par of 70 over 5346 metres. It also has a 20 bay practice driving range.
a par of 72 over 5994 metres, about a 40 minute drive. If you fancy golf courses closer to the sea then you will not be dissappointed. These include: Golf de la Prée in La Rochelle. This seaside course has magnificent views of the Atlantic ocean, has 18 holes and a par 72 over 5931 metres.  Golf de Royan. This course runs through the beautiful pine forest of La Coubre which is remarkable as has its own natural sand dunes. An 18 hole course with a par 71 over 5924 metres. Isle d'Oleron 9 hole golf course, bordering the atlantic beaches and with a par of 36 over 2908 metres. This course also has a 25 place practice area, a pitching and putting green as well as a six hole pitch 'n put. Saintonge Golf Club, just outside Saintes, has 18 holes with a par of 68 over 4971 metres. Niort also has a golf course which is about a 90 minute drive away. With an 18 hole course, a par of 72 over 5868 metres. It also has 30 practice bays (10 sheltered) a putting green, a pitching green and a pitch-and-put 4 hole. |
